We will drive to the lake Komani through the town of Vau i Dejes. There you are in the unspoiled countryside offering the taste of what’s to come. The valley here is much wider than on the lake itself but this journey provides an introduction to the vegetation and the aspect of the mountains as you steadily climb up to about 400 m to the Komani dam.  There we board the ferry which will takes us on an amazing ride. When you sail on the lake the tree-lined hills give away to sheer limestone cliffs which gradually close in until it looks like you have only the side of a mountain in front of you. But then the valley opens up again and you turn into a narrow passageway between two vertical walls of rock.

A swimming stop is at the bridge over river Shala, locals say that that river “washes away sins”. There we can have our picnic lunch.
