    Itinerary

    After arrival at the airport and meeting with your guide, transfer to accommodation in Tirana.

    In the morning we arrive at the ruins of the Venetian fortress Rozafa near Skadar (Shkodër). On the spot was a castle guarding the way to the city, part of the walls coming from the original Illyrian fortress,conquered by the Romans in the 2nd century. In the afternoon we visit the town by Shkodra lake. Accommodation in Shkodra.


    After breakfast, a visit to Kruja, the Skanderbeg's native town, the Albania’s national hero with its castle and fortress, the Skanderbeg Museum and the Oriental Market. On the road we will stop in Lezha where is the hero's tomb. After city tour and lunch in a traditional restaurant, we cross to the coast of Adriatic Sea to the important port of Durrës, the oldest and second largest Albanian city, the former metropolis of the country, founded in the 7th century BC by Greek settlers. Here is a Roman amphitheater dating back to the 2nd century, the remains of the Byzantine castle, King Zog's palace and sandy beaches. Accommodation in Durres.


    At first, we follow the road to the city of Berat (UNESCO)with a Muslim and Christian section connected by a bridge across the Osum River. On the hill dotted with typical white houses with red roofs, there was once famous citadel. In the afternoon, we visit Apollonia, founded by colonists from Corinth in the 6th century BC, where a significant philosophical school existed in Roman era. Today, it is one of Albania's most important archaeological sites with ruins of public buildings, theater and monastery and the church of Shën Mëri. We will settle in the Vlora area for night.


    Transfer to Saranda, the main resort of the Albanian Riviera with large beaches, olive groves and agave plants. Here you can swim in the Ionian Sea. In the afternoon we stop in the historic town of Butrint (UNESCO)with Roman baths, temple of Goddess Minerva, the Diaforit villa, the Byzantine basilica or the preserved Venetian fortress. Accommodation in Sarande.


    In the morning, we move to Gjirokastra (Gjirokastër), with a short stop at Blue Eye, the bustling river of Bistrica. Gjirokastra is famous for its ancient stone architecture and slate roofs, which have provided him with a place on the UNESCO list. In the city under the fortress above the river Drini was born Enver Hoxha, leader of Communist Albania, and the famous writer Ismail Kadare. Accommodation in Gjirokastra.


    In the morning we transfer to the capital Tirana. We will visit the large Skanderbeg Square with wide boulevards, Ethem Bey Mosque, Clock Tower,Enver Hoxha Pyramid, BunkArt 2 museum. After traditional lunch we see the many artifacts in National Historical Museum and visit the “Block”. We finish the last day with a bit of free time for shopping. Accommodation in Tirana.


    Transfer to the airport and end of service.
